About

Lucia Kuhl writes Midlife Paranormal Women’s Fiction, as well as Paranormal Cozy Animal and Amateur Sleuth Mysteries. Her path to becoming an author began at a very young age when surprised by an intuitive experience during a horseback riding accident, it awakened a curiosity for the unknown. Needing to know more, she delved into mysteries like those by Phyllis A Whitney and was captivated by spooky tales such as "Dark Shadows." Evenings were spent curled before a TV with her father and an assortment of furry critters, escaping to the Ponderosa or riding the range in Medicine Bow. These influences nurtured her love for storytelling.

But it would be her mother’s love for Big Band Music and Lawrence Welk that would send her on a path to ballroom dancing, teaching, and studio ownership. In those years, instructing countless students, she developed the belief that everyone has multiple superpowers, and the world begs us to share our magic.

However, life took an unexpected turn when a dance accident resulted in a knee injury. This twist of fate led her to pen her first book, "Moon Lake Dance", where she wove her love for horses, whodunits, and the supernatural.

Twenty-plus works later, she writes about flawed, strong-willed characters who embrace their authenticity and fight for the wellbeing of their community. She believes every story benefits from at least one ghost or witch and a pet or two. A hint of romance is always good. A few of her women sleuths carry guns. Some only need magic. Her books contain no sex, strong violence or profanity. Residing in Indiana with her Maine Coon cat, she enjoys reading, writing, dancing, music, and flower gardening.
